Time to move on....

Ken Hastie
Well folks, after twenty years of Triumph Trophy ownership and looking after this group for a while when e mail groups were the "in" thing, it's time for me to say my goodbyes as my Trophy is now sold and in the hands of a new owner.
The group used to be the main method of sharing our combined knowledge and certainly served a purpose to the benefit of all in that time.
I still have my Beezers and next week I pick up my 3,000 mile Trophy SE from the Isle of Man and so a new adventure begins.....
Thanks for all your support over the years....

Will you still be the Group Owner? A Group Owner? Are there others? Anything we need to know about management of the Yahoo Group?

Thanks Bud Izen, you are one of the long term members and I'm pleased to hear you are still on your Trophy !  In fact, it was Michael Hurst that set up the Triumph Trophy Yahoogroup initially and then after many years he sold up and bought a Gold Wing I think.  That was when I took over the ownership.

Don, in answer to your question the group will still exist and Tom Witt is the owner (he has been joint owner for many years now).

 Hope this answers your question...

Just out of interest to show how much things have changed, the group would regularly get 600 or 700 messages in a month, with one month in particular being exceptional with 1,625 messages (May 2003).  The world has moved on a bit and there are so few messages these days that it is quite exciting to actually read one !

That’s because we’ve read all the posts, taken the advice, modded our airboxes and done all the little tweaks and now all have perfectly running Trophies! ☺

Glad the list is continuing. My email box of flagged posts containing helpful notes and discussions still has 2,444 items in it, and I have found the group invaluable over the years, so I’d just like to add my thanks for all the work you’ve put in Ken, along with your fellow Admins, to keep things running smoothly.

Ken, thanks for your  Trophy leadership on this group. I am a silent member, since I've been so busy in life deployed from one place to another. I haven't had time to spend on my BRG 16000 miles,, 96 1200 except intermittently when in the US. i love the Trophy, and your leadership. I'm a USAF maintenance superintendent on bad ass jets.  Hello to all the members - a big thank you to all!
This group has been very helpful during the many years I rode my 1994 Triumph trident 900. I ran into a mechanical road block last year. The next step to try and identify the issue is to remove the engine from the bike and tear down the tranny.
After many attempts to fix my issue I have to say that I gave up totally frustrated and purchased a 2015 BMW R1200R with low mileage from a dealer. The original owner had a medical issue and could not longer ride (being a good customer the dealer picked up the bike and promised to look after re-selling it) . I got the bike for the base price- a great deal I could not pass up . It is the top model version and fully loaded with all the options I could ever dream of … the bike fits me like a glove and is now my new love.
I still have the trident... and maybe one day will fix it, so I'm hoping the group continues.
Thanks againJason

Thanks for all you've done, Ken, to facilitate so many conversations and so much information exchange.  I've been on the list probably since about the beginning - before I picked up my 96 BRG in 2002.

I still haven't gotten around to doing the sprag that failed back in 2015.  Being busy at home, with a new work venture and a bit of lazy have kept me too busy.

Enjoy the SE, Ken. I've had my eye on them too.  I'm just too cheap to put up real money after a bike.  I picked up an R1100RT as a temporary replacement for the Trophy and wouldn't you know the clutch has gone.  And that's a bear of a job on those, on par with the Sprag.

Fortunately I've got the leaks in the carbs on my Legend sorted out.  But my brother's just given me back my 88 Ninja to rehab and sell.

Ahh bikes.  The projects never end.

 Take care, Ken.

 Scott

Hi Ken

Thanks for your wise steering of the group over the time I have been involved. It is a valuable resource for new owners and it certainly helped me maintain a friendly relationship with my ’96 1200.

I am somewhat tempted to get an SE myself although I don’t think they are supplying in Australia this year.

I hope the roads are just as nice on the SE.

Yep, appreciate it here also Mr Ken. 10 years in the group myself. Its been
the most informative bunch to be found. Members care for one another here
and the trophy’s abroad as well. I’ve built friendships, learned new
routes, even rode my old 4 banger across a far region of Canada because of
members of this group. Pretty damn special in my book bro!

Thank you.

Yes, John, the Trophy SE is no longer made as it's discontinued from the line up.  I went to the official Triumph launch years back and promised myself I'd get one.  I managed to pick up a low mileage Trophy SE with 3,400 miles and I'm off to the Isle of Man to pick her up next week.

Ken,
I joined this group not quite 4 years ago when I purchased my 2002 Trophy and you were there in the background helping facilitate the valuable advice and giving some great advice yourself.
Congrats on your Trophy SE.  I've sat on them at the dealer and they're nice.  I guess the Tiger and ST models are carrying the big triple engine forward for now.
Please don't close out the mailing list.  I'm not on Facebook.
Thanks again for your work to support all of us.

Excellent group! Numerous friendships made during my 12 years here! Looking
forward to riding the Trophy again soon. I’ve got 2 bikes now. The newer
FJR 1300 is fun and dependable but doesn’t offer the experience. Doesn’t
come close to the BBBB experience! Hope to get the trophy going again soon
and take them both on a little trip with my youngest kid. College man now!
