Sprint UK Camchain Tensioner Spring

Triumph Trophy mailing list
Hi guys,

The time has come for me to get a Sprint Manufacturing camchain tensioner spring. I haven't checked mine, yet, but she now has over 100,000 kms. It is time.

I could (and almost did) just order it from Sprint, but the 17.00 GBP charge for postage seems a bit outrageous to me. After all, the spring will fit nicely in a small padded envelope. Surely that can't cost 17.00 GBP postage to Nova Scotia, Canada B0P 1J0 (and don't call me SHIRLEY!  ).

Can it be had in Canada or the USA for a sensible price? Would anyone in the UK be willing to buy it for me and send it to me at actual postage cost? I'd happily PayPal you the money in advance.

 Cheers,
 Glenn

Re: Sprint UK Camchain Tensioner Spring

Hi Glen,

I am in the UK and have just looked up postage costs to Canada. I have attached a link below.

http://www.royalmail.com/personal/international-delivery/international-tracked-signed

International Tracking & Signature Parcel Services | Royal ...<http://www.royalmail.com/personal/international-delivery/international-tracked-signed>
www.royalmail.com
Use Royal Mail's new International Tracked, International Signed or International Tracked & Signed services. Fast, reliable and with added piece of mind.

From what I can gather your tensioner spring should cost around £7.25 GBP.

Let me know if I can be of help.

Regards,

Allen

Hi Glenn, I have an extra spring I bought from Sprint. I bought 3, one for my brother and two for me. Now my brother doesn't want it. They cost me $21 each. Send me your zip code and I'll find out the cost from California. Greg Andrews

Hi Glen,
I think I recall that Greg Andrews, out in Victorville has one, he might part with? "Hey Greg!"

Re: Sprint UK Camchain Tensioner Spring

Hi all,

Thank you all for your offers of help! Poppa Jack, you say Greg is in Victorville??? Wow, when I did my trip last March I overnighted in Barstow - roughly 40 kms (25 miles) from there. I wish I had known! Come to think of it, you were probably close, too. I planned quickly and only had 8 days for the 6,000 km trip, so I missed badly by not seeing you both. Maybe another time. Who knows, maybe I'll end up buying a bike out your way sometime and coming to pick it up!

Allen, thank you for the info and your offer. Fantastic! There will likely be a postage charge to get the spring from Sprint to you, too, though.

Greg, my postal code is B0P 1J0 (those are zeroes, not "O's"). Intl first class big envelope ought to do it, I expect. If you're sure you don't want to keep a spare, just in case, then I would love to buy that from you. If you think you may want to save it, absolutely no worries, I'd be just as thankful to lean on Allen's shoulder.

 Regards,
 Glenn

I liiked at buying 2 cam tensioner springs and a set of fuel lines for my 1200.  Total with shipping came to somewhere near $120.00.
This was with slow shipping to my address in postal code 32226.  The shipping cost more than the parts.
I deleated my order.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for checking for me. I figured a padded envelope by first class mail would be less. I'll send Sprint an email and see what they say. If push comes to shove maybe I can impose on Allen to forward it to me.

 Cheers,
 Glenn

Hi Allen,

Thank you! We should take this off-board for the details. I have never been able to contact members privately through here or even quote posts when replying. I always use the yahoo group site. Maybe there is another way that provide the options I mentioned. Anyway, my email is slovcan at yahoo dot ca.

I'll let everyone know if I get any answers from Sprint when I email them.

 Cheers,

Re: Sprint UK Camchain Tensioner Spring

Hi folks,

Thanks go out to Allen for offering to forward the spring to me. I also make that offer to anyone who might need my help.

I wrote Sprint. They are going to send me the spring by airmail for 10 GBP instead of the website quote of 17 GBP. They explained that the 17 usually covers multiple items using combined shipping. For 10 GBP (about $16 USD), I'll get it from them.

Thank you, Greg, for offering to help. This way there will still be one available stateside if somebody gets in a jam.

 Cheers,
 Glenn
