Just hit 100,000 miles

Viper57
Hi everyone

Just thought I would share the news that my '98 1200 Trophy has just passed 100,000 miles

Motor still feels tight, with no noises at all (apart from the usual 'diesel' noises)  . Valves all within spec, still original cam chain.

For a birthday present to the old girl I changed the oil and oil filter, fitted a new OEM airbox/filter, fitted new spark plugs, checked the valve clearances( all OK) and a thorough grease.

I get the urge every now and again to buy a newer model Trophy before they are discontinued but the old girl just wants to go on and on............ and besides I cant justify the additional $20,000 at this stage

So the Trophy and I are together for a while yet....... maybe another 100,000 miles

cheers
Gary

Thanks Samuel

yes 100000km on a Triumph - I don't think my Bonneville T140V would have made it that far  lol

The Trophy is a great bike - a real keeper

Cheers

Congrats on your milestone, Gary.
Mine only recently cleared 20K miles, so I have quite a bit of catching up to do.  I can completely understand the thought of dishing out so much for a new model of any ST or GT bike.
I plan to keep up with regular maintenance intervals and hope that mine lasts as well as yours has.

Re: Just hit 100,000 miles

cheers dave

I change the oil and filter at 10000km as per schedule, valve checks every 24000km and I have replaced the OEM coils with nology ones, fitted a new fuel tap and replaced the fuel lines. that's it apart from brake pads and tyres obviously

I cannot see any reason why your would not go the distance as well

Happy riding !!
